TextPublication details: Beirut Université Libanaise - Faculté de Pédagogie - Deanship 2015Description: 48 pagesSubject(s): Online resources: Abstract: Concept mapping is a learning tool used in classrooms to understand key concepts and relationships between concepts. The purpose of this study is to study the effect of using the concept map as a studying tool on eight graders’ achievement, when using concept mapping among grade eight students in one private school in Saida, Lebanon. To carry this study, a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design was used to examine the achievement of the experimental group students and give statistical information about their improvement after the intervention where a pre-test and a post-test were performed. The findings indicate that the concept mapping study tool is effective in increasing the achievement of grade eight students in chemical reaction. Most of the students have made some progress in their conceptual development. Only a few students struggled with the approach.
