520 3 _aThis study is a qualitative research conducted in two private English medium schools and one English medium University in North Lebanon. The focus of this research is to investigate how music is being used as a teaching strategy as well as perceived values and beliefs towards its use. The research also aims to discover the possible obstacles to the use of music in teaching English as a second language in a Lebanese context. Thirteen observations were conducted in three English level classes. In addition to the observations, five interviews with teachers and principals were used as research instruments. The data have been analyzed using a constant comparative method and have revealed two main themes and sub-themes. The two main themes that emerge from the study are ‘teacher readiness’ and ‘administration readiness’.
