It also investigates the methods of instruction and the problems teachers face in the teaching-learning process. The population of this study consists of elementary English teachers selected from West Beka’a Public and Private Schools. The sample consists of 150 teachers. The instrument of the study consists of a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the teachers are using traditional teaching practices incapable of producing the desired learning. Moreover, it has been found that educational reform is not embracing most parts of the system. In order to improve the teaching-learning process and to open a new vista for educational change, it is suggested to adopt a cultural approach such as “Lesson Study”. This is the pioneering trend in teacher education and reeducation for producing effective and fruitful learning to be introduced in Lebanon.
