520 3 _aThis study is a qualitative narrative inquiry aimed to investigate the perceived reasons female EFL teachers in Lebanon leave the teaching profession. By drawing on face-to-face interviews, this study specifically sought the perceptions of 6 EFL teachers who worked in private schools and who voluntarily dropped out of teaching. The findings revealed ten factors that underpinned the participants’ exit decision. Recommendations emerged that suggested that school systems and universities need to collaborate to address various issues if they hope to significantly impact the problem.
