The sample studied consisted of 162 student-teachers in the Lebanese University, Faculty of Pedagogy, First Branch, UNESCO. Results were collected using three different instruments to measure participants’ environmental knowledge, practice, and attitudes, and a rubric to evaluate project- based learning skills, and the rate of paper recycling performed by student-teachers for measuring environmental commitment. Qualitative and quantitative results showed that there was a significant improvement in the level of pre-service teachers’ green-citizenship. The implications of this study endorsed the importance of pre-service environmental education training as a criterion for teacher green-citizenship certification.
