520 3 _aThis research focused on the critical analysis of health education in Lebanon according to the World Health Organization recent definitions of "comprehensive health education curriculum". This descriptive collective case study analyzed the Lebanese curriculum, syllabi of disciplines and national textbooks. Three different grids were established according to the set criteria to collect data (sequential, G1 to 12 curricula that address the physical, mental, emotional, and social dimensions of health...). The results were recorded in tables and then commented on. The results indicated that the learning objectives emphasized physical health, while the mental, emotional and social dimensions of health were neglected. In addition, knowledge rather than attitudes, skills and practices were emphasized. The study led to the need to amend the current Lebanese curriculum and national textbooks to produce a separate health education syllabus according to the WHO definition of comprehensive health education.
