520 3 _aRole play is a pedagogical method that belongs to active learning which aims to increase the involvement, motivation, and responsibility of students. The main purpose of this action research was to examine the effect of role play on students’ attitude towards biology. The participants were 18 grade 7 students from a private school in Beirut. The data collection techniques used were a questionnaire and interviews. The students answered the same questionnaire adopted from Test of Science-Related Attitudes (TOSRA) to measure their attitude before (pretest) and after the intervention (posttest). The time taken for the intervention was a month. Data obtained from the pre- and the post-tests were analyzed using SPSS 16.0. Results indicate no significant difference in the student’s attitudes before and after participating in the role-play scenes. Implications for practice are discussed.
