520 3 _aThe purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of the Cabri geometry software on students’ achievement and motivation in geometric loci. Two intact classes of 20 students each served as experimental and control groups. The experimental group received instruction using the Cabri geometry software whereas the control group received instruction by the traditional approach. The results of the study using t-test for independent samples showed no significant difference of means between the two groups. However, the procedure of the t-test for dependant samples showed a significant increase of achievement, at the 0.05 level of significance, in each group of the independent variable, with a greater size effect in the experimental group. In addition, the results of the survey and interviews conducted to evaluate motivation, using qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis, showed a higher level of motivation in the experimental group than in the control group.
