520 3 _aIn January 2005, a charitable foundation in Tripoli began teaching English in several branches. One year later, a considerable investment was made in state-of-the-art software for English language teaching (ELT). Until recently, this investment has not been evaluated but experience shows that teachers and students make use of the technology in different ways, generally not based on any methodological principles despite their obvious commitment to the overall objective of the ELT program. This research examines the usefulness of how the software (Clarity) was being exploited. A different approach is suggested, tried and evaluated according to the recommended criteria set forth in Chapelle (2001). Recommendations are based on the evaluation and data collected from interviews with the teachers and students. Recommendations are made regarding appropriate objectives for language learning and ICT use and suitable methodology for achieving those objectives to get a maximum profit from the investment.
