Summary, etc. School health education, including an extensive and comprehensive range of health education topics taught throughout the school years, is advocated as being the most effective means of promoting health for youth. School health education is an education for better physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual growth, aiming at cultivating a positive view of health rather than merely describing diseases and infirmity. This study assessed the extent of interest of Lebanese male and female 12-to-15-year-old students in a number of health topic areas and rated Lebanese teachers’ qualification for teaching those health topics. Moreover, it examined whether or not the Lebanese science curriculum caters to intermediate (12-15 years) students’ interests in different health topics and proposed remedial measures for curriculum development. The majority of the surveyed students responding to the survey reported great interest in learning more about health. Around 42% of the surveyed teachers indicated that they either were unqualified or required further training to be able to teach a number of health topics while integrated in the school science curriculum. The thorough analysis and evaluation of the content and the pedagogical approaches of the new Lebanese science curriculum designated the need for a more extensive and suitable health education program that served to better achieve the aims of health education.
