Summary, etc. The following study attempts to show the importance of teachers' effective questioning in promoting their students’ ability to make inferences, predict outcomes, formulate hypotheses, and eventually draw plausible conclusions about given premises and situations. The study also describes how critical and mental dispositions acquired through effective questioning as well as constructive and positive feedback foster the students’ capacities to construct valid arguments and negotiate meaning effectively. When students maintain balance between their intelligent and emotional capacities—as nurtured and promoted through the effectiveness and appropriateness of their teachers’ questioning—their interpersonal intelligence grows, a fact that enables them to lead successful interactions and relations in their environment and societies. The study also sheds some light on the importance of effective questioning and argumentation in promoting students' insight into their own thinking processes. Consequently, students get to develop their metacognitive skills, the fundamental tools indispensable to help students to monitor, evaluate, plan, implement, refute, re-plan and re-evaluate, hence, be in control of their learning in general.
