Summary, etc.	Fruit de plusieurs années de recherche et d'expérimentations, cet ouvrage rend son dynamisme à la géométrie.Celle-ci doit être l'occasion de faire manipuler, construire et agir les élèves du cycle 3. * La première partie aborde l'histoire de la géométrie et de son enseignement depuis l'Antiquité jusqu'aux dernières instructions officielles. * La deuxième partie, très concrète, présente plus de 40 séances de travail faciles à mettre en œuvre dans les classes de cycle 3 : construire des polyèdres avec des pièces de Polydron, représenter un cube, représenter un tétracube, découvrir les pentaminos... Les situations, présentées de manière progressive, permettent à l'élève de s'initier à l'organisation de l'espace, de reconnaître quelques figures géométriques simples et ainsi, de passer de l'espace au plan, c'est-à-dire d'un objet à sa représentation sur une feuille. Pour chaque situation, les notions de base sont rappelées et le niveau de classe indiqué.
